After a long and snowy winter Central New York is primed and ready for the heat and haze. Well, the 2021 Farmer's Almanac is out with their forecast and we're getting a picture of what we can expect this summer.
How is it possible to have lived over 50 years and never heard of "snow fleas"?! Thanks to the 2021 Farmers' Almanac, I now know about something I never knew existed, the snow flea that lives in snow banks and snow around tree trunks.
"Old Man Winter" is hard to find but you can spot him in the tree above. The question is, will he come our way in Central New York? So far, we've had a mild season with barely a dusting of snow. Of course the Winter season has not officially begun yet so we should take that into consideration.
According to “The Old Farmer’s Almanac,” which goes on sale this week, the weather forecast for winter suggests that people from the Great Lakes to northern New England can expect cold and snowy weather, while west of the Great Lakes will see warmer weather.
