Amish families in New York say they are having serious discussions about moving out of the state due to religious persecution.

No one has to tell us that New York is a very expensive place to live but I had no idea just how expensive it is to live in the Capital Region compared to other regions in New York state.

Amsterdam will be celebrating everything German this weekend. It's their annual Oktoberfest with a day filled with contests, entertainment, vendors, live music, and more. The Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing & Recreation Department turns the Southside of Amsterdam into a huge Oktoberfest Block Party along Bridge Street on Saturday, October 9th from 11 am until 7 pm according to their press release.

I am 100% Italian and love all Italian food and festivals. There haven't been many festivals at all in the past year and a half so I am happy for this Saturday. This weekend Amsterdam will bring back ItaliaFest. The event was canceled last year due to COVID. It will be held on Bridge Street Saturday, September 18th from 11 am until 9 pm. Another movie was filmed in Upstate New York. "The Last Frankenstein" was written and directed by Amsterdam's David Weaver and shot around Amsterdam. It's the story of the last surviving member of the Frankenstein family....yes, that Frankenstein family.
