Suspect in Pittsfield Vehicle Theft Apprehended

The suspect in a 2019 Town of Pittsfield vehicle theft is now facing charges. According to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office an investigation determined Billy Bates of New Paltz stole the vehicle from a Pittsfield business then fled to Pennsylvania. The town of Pittsfield court issued an arrest warrant and Bates was picked up on Jan. 9. He is charged with 3rd Degree Grand Larceny and after being arraigned was released on his own recognizance.
