COVID-19 has made its way onto the SUNY Oneonta campus according to President Barbara Jean Morris who revealed that an employee on the campus has tested positive for the coronavirus.

A press release from the college stated that officials only learned of the positive test results yesterday and that the employee has been under quarantine on campus since April 6. A message with that news was sent out to the campus community yesterday. This is the first confirmed case on the campus.

Those who have come into contact with that employee have been notified. Due to privacy rights, the individual's identity is protected.

Morris says, “We are meeting the challenge of this pandemic, and I continue to be in awe of everything that we are doing to keep moving forward and support one another.”
