SUNY Chancellor Kristina Johnson delivered the annual; “State of the University System Address” Thursday morning in Albany at the Albany Capital Center. Johnson says society is rapidly arriving at a place, where post-secondary education is not something that's "nice to have". It’s becoming a requirement, for anyone who hopes for a good career, and for any state that hopes to foster opportunity for all. She praised the state’s financial assistance including the Excelsior Scholarship which means more than half of SUNY and CUNY students pay no tuition.
