Social Security Replacement Cards Now Online

New York state residents needing a replacement Social Security card can now apply for one without having to make a trip to a Social Security office. The Social Security Administration announced that residents can now log on to socialsecurity.gov/myaccount to request a card from their home or office. New York joins the District of Columbia in offering this online service and the administration says they will be expanding it nationwide throughout 2018.
