Canceled in 2020, Much Loved Skaneateles Dickens Christmas Returns in 2021

An annual tradition in Skaneateles, Dickens Christmas, was canceled because of the pandemic in 2020, but organizers have announced its return for the 2021 holiday season.

Visitors young and old will enjoy stepping back in time to witness the magic of Christmas come to life in the Village of Skaneateles which is located in the absolutely stunning Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York.

A Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles will begin the day after Thanksgiving which is Friday, November 26, and the festivities will run from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each  Saturday and Sunday through Thursday, December 23 as well as on Friday, December 24 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a special shortened Christmas Eve celebration.

Visitors will be able to stroll the streets of picturesque Skaneateles while ducking into local shops and restaurants. Along the way, expect to run in to Charles Dickens and his cast of over 50 characters who will most definitely interact with you.

Dickens Christmas has several fun things planned including the World's Tiniest Christmas Parade on Friday, November 26 at 12:00 p.m. This parade is so small that if you're late, you'll miss it.

On Friday, December 3, Charles Dickens and the rest of the characters will make their grand entrance at the Library at 6:00 p.m. and then will travel to the Gazebo for caroling and the tree lighting.

Each day at 2:00 p.m., visitors are invited to gather at the Skaneateles Gazebo to watch the full cast of Dickens Christmas characters sing and engage with people. Another favorite is the Snowman-building contest (as long as there's snow) in Clift Park on Saturday, December 18. Queen Victoria will even judge the entries!
