Sunday, June 6th was "National Gardening Excercise Day' but it was WAY TO HOT to try that outside, and besides, it was Sunday and that is supposed to be a day of rest. With it being so warm, it might be better to celebrate "National Gardening Week" that way you can pace yourself and it is supposed to get cooler by the end of the week.

Speaking of gardens, this past weekend was our area's all-around town yard sale. My daughter Tara and I have a tradition of going around town ourselves and taking advantage of all the great deals that are available.

One of the things that I noticed was that so many people have gardens in their backyard. I think some of it may have started last year when we were stuck in place during the pandemic and they found the benefits of gardening and planting flowers.

Benefits Of Gardening

Think about all the things that you can do when you're gardening like raking, digging, swearing...okay, that's more of a mental exercise. Gardening is good for the mind, body, and soul... especially if you don't mind weeding.

Here is your chance to get some fresh (albeit warm) air while enjoying one of America's favorite hobbies. It's even better if you can use it counts as exercise.  The best part is that the plants don't care if you stop after only a few minutes and take a nap on the hammock under the tree.
