NYSP: Shooting at Oneonta, New York Mobile Home Park
On September 12, 2024, at approximately 10:51 p.m., the New York State Police in Oneonta responded to a report of gunshots at Lantern Hill Mobile Home Park, following a dispatch from the Otsego County 911 Center.
The investigation revealed that a 40-year-old man from Oneonta, NY, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after a dispute involving multiple individuals. He was initially transported to A.O. Fox Hospital by a private vehicle and later transferred to Bassett Hospital for further treatment.
During the incident, the vehicle transporting the victim was struck by gunfire.
In the early hours of September 13, 2024, at around 1:00 a.m., 34-year-old Ishmael Seabrook of Oneonta, NY, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- Two counts of Attempted Murder in the second degree (class “B” felony)
- Criminal Use of a Firearm in the first degree (class “B” felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree (class “C” felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree (class “D” felony)
- Reckless Endangerment (class “D” felony)
The New York State Police were assisted by the Oneonta City Police Department and AMR ambulance service. Seabrook was arraigned at Otsego County Jail and held without bail.
