State Senator James Seward took the oath of office on Tuesday for another term at the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, Seward addressed supporters and well-wishers, recounting recent legislative victories, and vowing to continue to tackle the challenges facing New York State.

"Over the past two years I've worked and partnered with Governor Cuomo and my colleagues in the both the senate and the assembly to produce real results," he said. "We've streamlined state government to cut cost and better serve the people of New York State."

Senator Seward was first elected to the state senate in 1986. He will be serving his 14th term.
