Seward and Ashkar Respond to “Green Light Bill” Passage

State Senators James Seward and Fred Akshar released statements after Monday’s passage of the bill granting driver licenses to undocumented immigrants. Seward said the so-called Green Light Bill is bad public policy that aids and abets criminals and disregards individuals who do things by the book. Akshar noted that the bill’s sponsor admitted that there are no safeguards to prevent illegal and undocumented immigrants from successfully and illegally registering to vote. Governor Cuomo signed the bill on Monday.
