School Districts To Be Ranked For Accountability Plan
Schools throughout New York State will learn this fall if they will be required to undergo additional monitoring and support as a part of the state’s recently enacted School Accountability Plan. According to New York State Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia the list of schools will include those in the state’s bottom 5 percent along with ones in which students in subgroups of race or special education are among the lowest-performing in the state. The rankings are determined on state test scores, student attendance and other measures.
