Richfield Springs Man Charged With Rape

A Richfield Springs man is facing felony charges in connection with an incident in Herkimer County last month. According to New York State Police following an investigation, 33-year-old Joseph O’Brien forced a woman whom he was acquainted with to engage in sexual intercourse at a location in Herkimer County. Police took O’Brien into custody on Wednesday and after arraignment, he was charged with first degree rape. He was booked into the Herkimer County Jail on $10,000 cash or bond.
