According to a news release from the American Red Cross the organization has put together various teams through Red Cross Disaster Mental Health, Spiritual Care, and volunteer services to provide support to grieving families during this difficult time.

In the release Alan H. Turner II, Regional Chief Executive Officer for the American Red Cross, Western New York Region said “Our thoughts are with all who have suffered the loss of a loved one to COVID-19, as well as all those grappling with the emotional impact of this pandemic.”

The American Red Cross is looking to provide help and support in various ways that include speaking with families over the phone to offer support, condolences, and resources that may help them deal with their loss.

The organization is also providing help with virtual memorial services for families and helping to put them in touch with faith-based organizations within their community, and helping with any legal resources and information.
