Induction Weekend in Cooperstown saw the National Baseball Hall of Fame reporting record crowds for the Parade of Legends and more than 7,000 fans in the museum on Saturday, before Sunday’s induction of Mike Piazza and Ken Griffey Jr.
Huge numbers of Seattle Mariners fans joined the expected legion of New York Mets fans on the streets of the village, making another attendance record a reality for the Hall on Sunday. Griffey, who played most of his career in Seattle. and Piazza, who is remebered with the Mets, were among the game’s most popular players.
