The Holiday season typically comes hand in hand with stress due to an increased work load at your job and at home and then there's all overindulging,  It's a recipe for getting run-down, sick, and weight gain.  Yikes!

So what can we do about this to enjoy the Holiday season as it was meant to be enjoyed?  Brooke Siler, a Fitness and Pilates expert has some good ideas:

  • Keep moving, no matter where your day takes you.  You can do lunges anywhere.
  • Find time to stretch, even if's it's only for a few minutes.  Stretching is important for blood flow and circulation, plus it can reduce stress.
  • Don't skip your workouts.  If you can't make it to the gym then try pilates because Brooke says you can do that almost anywhere.
  • Fight the urge to overindulge.  It's the season of parties and holiday cookies which makes it challenging to not overeat.  Try to avoid the sweets and arm yourself with some dark chocolate to have a bite of when you feel the sugar craving coming on.
  • And here's a tip from me:  find opportunities to laugh as much as possible.  That's always a great stress reliever.  To help you with this, watch the funny video below.
