For the first time in almost two years, there’s the pitter-patter of little feet at a facility on Cutler Pond Road in the Town of Dickinson.

The Broome County Dog Shelter, also known as “The Front Street Dog Shelter”, has a litter of seven puppies available for adoption, the first babies in quite some time to be ready for adoption at the facility that contracts with the county and several municipalities.

Mom, “Molly” was brought to the shelter from the Town of Union as a stray and gave birth to four male and three female puppies March 16.

Applications for adoption are being accepted at the shelter and meet and greet times will be scheduled for people to visit the puppies.

The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Aside from the puppies, there are plenty of other loving dogs available for adoption.

The adoption fee covers having the dog spayed or neutered, microchipped, wormed, vaccinated against disease and sent home with a care package.

For more information, contact the dog shelter at (607) 778-2493 or online at www.gobroomecounty.com/shelter.
