Most of our local meteorologists and weather personalities are abuzz once again today with the possibility of severe weather marching into our area today. Like the treat from Great American Cookie Company, today's weather will be a Double Doozie.

While Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties are not currently under heat advisories, our neighbors in Herkimer County to the north, and Sullivan County to the south are. Don't be fooled! It's going to be hot, humid, and sticky in our area with temperatures reaching around 89 degrees in Oneonta with real feel temperatures in the 90s due to humidity.

Currently, a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties. Last night's line of storms brought rain, winds, and some damage that caused power outages.

This afternoon's storms have the possibility of bringing straight line winds into our region, along with possible damage from them. Timing on this is sometime between 2pm and 5pm today. Much like conditions yesterday, strong winds and heavy downpours are in the cards for many areas.
