The body found around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in an area near the rear of the Norwich Wal-Mart after Norwich Police, State Police and Forest Rangers began a second day of a ground and water has been identified as that of missing Krista Kosowsky, 51, of Norwich.

NYS Forest Rangers used an airboat to search many acres of flooded fields, State Police divers searched other waters, and Norwich Police conducted a ground search.

A team of three Norwich Police officers assisted by a Norwich Police canine located the body in an area of water adjacent to the railroad right of way a short distance from the city of Norwich waste water treatment plant.

State Police divers recovered her body.

An autopsy revealed no trauma or injuries, and the cause of death is undetermined. A toxicology report will be performed.
