On Friday, an unprecedented number of robberies occured in Otsego County, keeping City of Oneonta and New York State Police quite busy. Burglaries occurred at KwikFill gas station at 66 Chestnut Street, Taylors Gas station at 472 Main Street, Mirabito on State Highway 23 in Oneonta, and the Mirabito gas station on County Highway 48 in Otego.

On top of that, New York State Police report that they received two other burglary complaints at local businesses in Otsego County: Losie’s Gun Shop in the town of Davenport and the Dollar Tree in the town of Oneonta. Working together, New York State Police and Oneonta Police investigated the cases and arrested 41-year-old Bryan L. Ruple of Otego for the four gas station robberies, and also for the Losie’s Gun Shop and the Dollar Tree burglaries.

The New York State Police made an additional arrest, taking into custody 41-year-old Derrick Gray of Laurens for his role in the robberies at the Mirabito in the town of Oneonta and the town of Otego.

Ruple has been charged on Burglary in the third degree, a class D felony and Gray is facing class C Felony of Robbery in the second degree charges.
