Outdoor Lovers: Enjoy The Season’s ‘Otsego Fall Octet Challenge’ Until December 21
The group that brought us "The Otsego Octet Winter Challenge" and "The Otsego Octet Summer Challenge" this past winter and summer in an attempt to get area residents outside and enjoying our beautiful Otsego County's parks and state land is back with another challenge--The Otsego Fall Octet Challenge.
These challenges were created through a collaboration between Otsego 2000, the Otsego Land Trust, and Otsego County Conservation Association and presented through Otsego Outdoors.
The idea is for everyone to get outside and enjoy designated locations throughout Otsego County. According to Otsego Outdoors, to complete this challenge, engage in 8 of the 20 featured activities listed in the challenge (below) between now and December 21, 2021. Be sure to complete at least one activity in each of the four areas of the county. There is a form and activity log to fill out which should be returned to Otsego 2000 with a $5 per participant fee (for patch). That will get you an official Otsego Octet Fall Challenge embroidered patch.
This program to encourage people to explore Otsego County and discover places they've never been before is managed by Otsego 2000. Here are the awesome sites that are part of the Fall Challenge:
- BETTY AND WILBUR DAVIS STATE PARK
- CHERRY VALLEY RIDE (biking)

Considering that the Winter and Summer Octet Challenges were a success, organizers are hoping that area residents embrace the Fall Octet Challenge as well. It's a great activity to do to reconnect with friends and family. Anyone who completes the challenge will get the Fall Octet patch (pic above) and bragging rights of course.
The best part about all of the different seasonal challenges is that participants will likely discover some new favorite places to enjoy.
