Otsego County Inmate Faces Over 50 Criminal Contempt Charges

An Otsego County Jail inmate is now in more trouble than before when police discovered that he has violated an order of protection more than 100 times. The Sheriff’s Office reports 29-year-old Christopher Ruiz of Hartwick made repeated contacts with the protected party while incarcerated.

It’s not clear why Ruiz was originally jailed or the method of how he made contact. Ruiz now faces 55 counts of second-degree criminal contempt and the charges were brought on Wednesday.
