Otsego County Health Officials Investigating Wedding Coronavirus Outbreak
Yesterday, The Otsego County Public Health Department (OCDH) reported an update on the latest confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county. Starting with Oneonta's colleges, Thursday SUNY Oneonta reported 2 new cases and Hartwick College has one new case.
A cluster of new cases in the county have been traced to a wedding and has spread into the community according to health officials. Contact tracing is underway to minimize the spread. Currently, the total county case count is 952 (since March) with 27 cases active, 2 people have been hospitalized with the virus and 7 county residents have died from COVID-19 related complications.
OCDH reminds area residents to stay home if you are sick and please wear a mask, wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing. Your mask should cover your mouth and nose at all times while you are wearing it.
