That is the case of a coronavirus exposure at the Otsego County Courthouse this week. According to Otsego County Department of Health, an individual, identified only as a "court user," was at the courthouse and had reported testing positive for the COVID-19 virus.  Because of that, an investigation has been implemented. The Otsego County Department of Health has reported that the possible COVID contact took place at the courthouse in Cooperstown on Monday May 24, 2021.

Contact tracing is now being done to see who may have come into close contact exposure with the infected "court user."  Once that investigation is completed the department will then notify anyone who may have been exposed and will advise on next steps. In the meantime, the Otsego County Courthouse in Cooperstown, 197 Main Street, Cooperstown, will undergo a cleaning and be disinfected.

It is wise to continue to follow CDC updated guidelines and adhere to all safety protocols.  The COVID-19 virus is still among us.  So be safe.
