Over the Labor Day weekend, Superintendent of the Oneonta School District, Thomas Brindley, informed area parents and guardians that the school start date for students had to be shifted to Monday, September 9.

In an email that was sent out, Brindley sited that the culprit for the delay in the school schedule was that the contractors working on building projects had not been able to quite finish the work in able to make for a safe environment for returning staff and students.

There's no word yet on how the district will choose to make up the two missed days.
