For many years, the Oneonta Rotary Club has bought coats for disadvantaged local children each winter with help from a few school districts in Otsego County. It's called Operation Warm and it's been going on for several years through Oneonta Rotary fundraising efforts.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, fundraising events have all been cancelled so now the service club is asking area residents to donate to the cause. Funds raised will purchase new coats for boys and girls from a company that sells coats made from recycled materials for a special low price for this cause.

According to Oneonta Rotary member David Rowley, Reinhardt Home Heating will be matching donations up to $3000 to help the club purchase more coats for kids during this challenging time. To donate visit the Oneonta Rotary Operation Warm facebook event page.
