Oneonta Police Chief Brenner Retiring; Witzenburg To Act As Interim
When the Oneonta Common Council meets on Tuesday they will vote on naming Police Lt. Christopher Witzenburg as interim chief of the Oneonta Police Department. Last month Chief Douglas Brenner announced his retirement after four year as the department's Chief, although he had been on the force for a total of 15 years. He retires at the age of 56.
According to AllOTSEGO, the city will begin the process of selecting Brenner’s permanent successor next month and the City Council will select that person from the list of candidates.
