Oneonta Family YMCA Collecting School Supplies

The first day of school is right around the corner and many local families struggle with the cost of the back-to-school bills.  To lend a helping hand, the Oneonta Family YMCA has been collecting commonly used school supplies which will be distributed to local families in need through Family Service Association.

To donate, simply drop off any new school supplies at the Oneonta YMCA on Ford Ave., during open hours.  The following is a list of supplies needed:

• Folders with pockets and/or Prongs
• small notepads
• Single subject spiral notebooks
• Three subject spiral notebooks
• Five subject spiral notebooks
• Marble Notebooks
• Three ringers binders (1”, 2” and 3”)
• Loose leaf paper (wide & college ruled)
• Pencil case and/or boxes
• pencil sharpeners and erasers
• #2 pencils
• black and blue pens
• colored pencils
• washable fat-tip and thin-tip magic makers
• boxes of crayons (24)
• glue sticks/scissors
• graph paper
• sketch pads
• index cards
• Quart and Gallon sized Ziploc bags
• Boxes of tissues
• highlighters
• Scientific Calculators/Graphing Calculators
• Schoolbags/Backpacks
• rulers
• protractors, Compasses.
