OCCA Helping To Preserve Farming In Otsego County
Otsego County Conservation Association has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Otsego County Soil and Water Conservation District to take the lead in updating the county’s Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan. The AFPP update process began in 2014 with a survey distributed to Otsego County farmers, followed by a series of public forums geared toward the farming community. The original plan, adopted in January 1999, was designed to protect, preserve, and enhance farming in the county, and to ensure that Otsego County remains home to productive agriculture in the future. Those interested in participating in the AFPP update process can call 547-4488 for more information.
