New York State has given the green light to construction on a wind power farm in the Town of Guilford which will provide enough energy for 25,000 average sized homes over the course of a year.

The New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment Siting Board approved the 100-megawatt proposal by High Bridge Wind, LLC which they say will create 250 jobs in manufacturing, supply, and construction. Developers say the nearly 4,000 acre site will have wind turbines of close to 700 feet. Generated power will be sold to NYSEG.
