It's been a long time since nursing home residents have been able to receive visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, there's good news for lonely seniors in New York State: visitors will soon be allowed again at nursing homes and long term care facilities that report no coronavirus cases for at least 28 days. In addition, only 10% of residents will be allowed visitors at a time with a limit of two visitors per patient.

All visitors are required to undergo temperature checks, wear face coverings and socially distance during the visit. The visitation resumption is to take effect July 15 according to the New York State Department of Health.  For more information visit coronavirus.health.ny.gov.
