New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, never shy to give his own take on issues, spoke out against U.S. Congress' decision to end the year without voting on a bill that would have given billions of dollars to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in New Jersey and New York.

It meant that the bill would have to wait for the new congress to take over, threatening to delay passage up to two months.

But due to the immense outrage Wednesday from both sides of the aisle, including irate lawmakers from New York and New Jersey, the House of Representatives will hold a vote Friday to pass an additional $9 billion to Sandy victims. Another vote will be held Jan. 15 on the remaining $51 billion proposed relief funding.

"That is why people hate Washington DC," Christie said of the bickering.
