New York State Police Warn of New Phone Scams

The New York State Police are continuing to warn residents of several fraudulent schemes asking for money. Victims throughout the Troop C area have sent large amounts of money to unknown individuals. Many of these scammers are out of the country and are untraceable. Money that appears to be sent locally is often delivered to a vacant or unoccupied residence and picked up and it cannot be tracked.

Police advise to never give out personal information over the phone and if you feel that you may be a victim and have lost money, contact your local police agency.
