AH-CHOO! Here’s The Spring Allergy Forecast For New York and Pennsylvania
Is it me or does it feel like allergy season got here early this year? Both of my daughters, Riley and Tara have been sneezing or coughing and I think they gave it to me. Okay, it doesn't work that way but I've been feeling it too.

In the past, pollen hasn't bothered me but it's been getting my attention this year. So what's going on here in the Southern Tier. Let's turn to our friends at AccuWeather to find out.
According to Climate Central, the growing seasons are becoming longer and that makes for a longer pollen season. Here's one thing that I didn't realize before, there are different kinds of pollen including tree, grass, and weed
Trees are usually the first and biggest pollen producers in the spring with the grass pollen taking over in the first part of summer with the weed pollen taking over late in the season.
Tree Pollen In New York and Pennsylvania
With all the rain that we've been getting in our area, it looks like the peak tree pollen won't be here until late April to early May and should leave us with a below-average season. So why do I feel like I have to sneeze now? If your headed south, tree pollen is worse than anywhere else
Grass Pollen In New York and Pennsylvania
It looks like the Southeast will have high levels of grass pollen too. In the Northeast, it looks like a pretty average year during the early part of summer. The warm weather along with sporadic rainfall means the grass growth will be slow. Good news for those of us who mow our lawns, not as good if you're a professional lawn care person.
Weed Pollen In New York and Pennsylvania
It looks like the weed pollen in the Southern Tier is where we will end up getting hit the hardest. The moisture and temperature in late summer/early fall will make a good environment for the weed pollen to thrive.
This will make for higher than normal levels in late August and early September. So my question is: How come I'm sneezing now.
