Ask anyone about the sexiness of high heels versus flats and the response will always be the same: high heels are hot, flats are not.  Now there's even new research out to back up this old concept and the reason behind it.  Researchers at the University of Portsmouth in the UK showed a separate group of men and women a video of women walking on a treadmill in both flat shoes and then high heels.  Both groups rated the women in heels as being sexier but it's not just the shoes, it's the way a woman walk in high heels as well.  In heels, a woman has a shorter stride and the hips sway more, a recipe for sexy according to the test subjects.  In the journal Evolution and Human Behavior, the researchers commented "We suggest that high heels may exaggerate the sex-specific aspects of the female walk which could cause sexual arousal in males and make women aware of potential competitors for mates."
