January is "Cervical Cancer Awareness Month" and with that in mind, Bassett Healthcare Network is sending their mobile cancer screening coach to the Oneonta Southside Mall on Monday, January 11, for FREE cancer screenings.

Free mammograms, breast exams, pelvic exams, Pap tests, and HPV tests will be available to uninsured and underinsured women 40 or older. Appointments should be made for a screening. Insurance is billed for those with insurance. Also available to uninsured and underinsured men and women 50 or older, free colon cancer screening take-home kits which are sent in by mail.

Please note that before boarding the mobile screening unit, patients will have their temperatures taken. Those getting a screening must wear a mask and will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19. For anyone showing signs or symptoms of COVID-19, they will not be able to proceed with the appointment and will instead be directed to an appropriate COVID-19 screening location.
