A driver faces felony charges after leading police on a chase that started in Oneonta and ended in Sidney just before midnight on March 28. State Police say 29-year-old Anthony CM Masi of Sidney refused to pull over when troopers tried to stop him on James Lettis Highway in Oneonta instead getting on I-88 heading toward Sidney.

The chase ended on Willow Street in Sidney when Masi’s vehicle lost a tire. Masi has been charge with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (with a prior conviction within 10 years) and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Forged Instrument, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. He has court appearances in the Town of Oneonta on April 6 and in Sidney on April 22.

 

Masi was issued appearance tickets to the town of Oneonta court on April 6, 2021.  He was additional issued an appearance ticket for the misdemeanor of Resisting Arrest to the village of Sidney court on April 22, 2021.  After processing, Masi was released to a sober third party.
