Labor Day Weekend, Filled With Hot Air at the Susquehanna Balloon Festival
What did you do over the Labor Day Weekend? Were you one of the many who enjoyed the Susquehanna Balloon Festival?I took my my son and headed to Neahwa Park in Oneonta this past Saturday night for the "Balloon Glow" and was not disappointed. The smell of fried dough wafted through the air, along with the sounds of kickin' blues music from the sound stage. Oh yeah, and then there were several incredible hot air balloons of all different colors.
It seemed evident that the biggest crowd pleaser was the giant, red, barn shaped balloon. I know I've never seen anything like that before. It was amazing! I can only imagine what that looks like on a beautiful clear evening when it's floating up in the sky.
I don't know about you but I would love to take a ride in a hot air balloon someday. It's not cheap but it's one of those "once in a lifetime" events. Many thanks to all who made the Susquehanna Balloon Festival possible for us all to enjoy. What a great way to kick off the Fall Season of events! Make sure you keep an eye on our events page for other great upcoming area events.
