Kmart’s Non-Christmas Christmas Commercial May Actually Make You Shop There

Kmart is getting a big (and clever) jump on the holiday shopping season.

The retail store has come out with a commercial promoting its layaway plan for Christmas -- although it made sure to let shoppers know it's actually for "an event in late December that you need a lot of gifts for." You know, wink wink.

Kmart doesn't get a lot of buzz these days, so this tongue-in-cheek ad may spur publicity and sales, even if Christmas is still three months away. Hey, it may be a way to beat those pesky crowds.
