Jury Selection Under Way in Death of John Heller of Oneonta

Jury selection is under way in the trial of Gabriel Truitt who is accused of setting an Oneonta home on fire which resulted in the death of a former Oneonta firefighter. Truitt is charged with arson and first degree murder in the death of John Heller at a Walling Ave. residence. Police say Heller died as he was trying to rescue relatives from the home. According to AllOTSEGO, prosecutors plan to call more than 30 witnesses and that may include Truitt’s brother and an ex-girlfriend.
