
Tornado Watch Issued for Parts of New York’s Southern Tier
The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Tornado Watch for much of the Southern Tier.

According to forecasters, the tornado watch is in effect until 11:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7 for the following counties: Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, Sullivan, and Tioga.
Be prepared for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, with the potential for damaging winds, large hail, and localized tornadoes. There is also a risk of heavy rain leading to localized flash flooding.
The National Weather Service in Binghamton also notes that spotters may need to be activated to gather important information about severe weather. If you are a weather spotter, please report any relevant details to the National Weather Service.
