New York Target Stores Recall Nearly 5 Million Threshold Candles
Target stores have raised the alarm and issued a recall of nearly five million of its Threshold home decor line of candles over serious laceration and burn injuries.
To date, Target has received 137 reports of Threshold glass candles breaking or cracking while in use. Worse, there have been six reported injuries of serious lacerations and severe burns, per the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, anyone in possession of the recalled candles should "immediately stop" using them and return the affected candles to any Target store for a full refund.
The Threshold candle recall includes the Threshold Glass Jar 5.5-ounce one-wick candles along with the 14 and 20-ounce three-wick candles, in multiple scents that include Apple Blossom and Breeze, Berry Lemonade and Melon, Coconut Sorbet, Charcoal, and Black Teak, and Warm Cider and Cinnamon.
The recalled candles were sold at Target stores, including in New York from August 2019 through March of 2023 and were priced between $3.00 and $20.00. Consumers can find the recalled item numbers printed on the bottom of the glass candle jars. Click here for more details about the recalled products.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says that consumers with additional questions can contact Target from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Central Time daily by calling 800-440-0680.
