The New York State Department of Health and New York State Office for the Aging reminds New Yorkers that they should get a flu vaccination soon, to protect themselves and others during the upcoming flu season. Flu season usually starts in October and continues through May. Adults aged 65 years and older, people with certain chronic medical conditions such as diabetes or heart disease, along with young children and pregnant women are among those at highest risk for serious flu complications.
