I can't say that I've ever felt baking deprived but apparently, the rest of the world believes that I was. People can't believe that when I was a little girl, I didn't spend hours in the kitchen with my mom and grandma making Christmas cookies and they're just as horrified to learn I don't do such things today with my own child.

There are very few sweet treats that I like. Cake is not one of them. Cookies aren't either. And chocolate? Yeah, that's pretty much a big no from me. Now, if we were spending time in the kitchen learning to make potato chips or granola, that would be an entirely different story.

I guess I feel the same way about baking as I do sewing or painting - anti it. For me, that is. I think it's lovely that other families like to spend hours and even days together in the kitchen, but I'm more of a get the job done and move on to the next thing gal.

I mentioned to my mom that I felt bad that I don't make treats as often as the world makes me feel I should and she gave me the perfect and (pretty much) fail-proof solution. Two Ingredient fudge. If you're too antsy to properly measure things and watch dough rise in the oven, THIS is for you.

What Ingredients Are Needed For Two-Ingredient Fudge?

One single can of full-fat sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces) and one bag of semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate chips (12-ounces).

How Do I Make Two-Ingredient Fudge?

In a large microwave-safe bowl, empty the contents of the can of sweetened condensed milk and then your bag of chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave on full power at 30-second intervals, mixing in between until the chocolate is completely mixed together with the condensed milk and there are no white streaks of milk. Then, pour the mixture onto a wax paper-lined pan and spread with a spatula or knife. Bang the pan on your counter a few times to release any air bubbles. Then, pop your fudge into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour until your fudge feels firm to the touch.

Can I Add Toppings to My Homemade Fudge?

Sure! Before you put your fudge in the refrigerator, you can top it with chopped nuts or smashed peppermint, colored sprinkles, or perhaps a bit of shredded coconut. The possibilities are endless, really!

How Do I Store Homemade Fudge?

A lot of people think that fudge needs to be kept in the refrigerator but if anything, doing that will likely dry it out faster. Instead, either keep your fudge right on the counter in an airtight container with pieces of wax paper separating layers of fudge or store it in the freezer. If you're storing it in the freezer, you'll want to layer it in an airtight container with pieces of wax paper between pieces of fudge. When you're ready to eat your fudge, pull it out of the freezer and wait 30 minutes or so until it becomes soft enough to chew.
