The Hartwick College Yager Museum of Art & Culture will host its annual Halloween storytelling event, “The Horror in the Museum,” on Wednesday, October 30, from 6 - 8 p.m.

The event features readings and performances of classic and current tales of spooky fiction, poetry, and song. Performers this year will include students from Hartwick’s literary magazine, Word of Mouth, as well as faculty members, staff and administrators. “The Horror in the Museum” is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. The suggested age of attendance, due to the content of the performed material, is 10 and up.
“‘The Horror in the Museum’ continues to be one of the cornerstones of the Yager Museum’s Fall schedule,” said Quentin Lewis, the Museum’s collections and programs manager. “This year we’ve got a wonderful slate of readers with plenty of tales of terror and suspense, and we’re excited that the Museum can continue to be a great space for creativity and performance, not to mention Halloween fun!”

The Yager Museum’s galleries will be also open during the readings. Visitors can explore the Museum’s current exhibits including Earth Water Sky: Landscapes from the Yager Museum; Silent Lakes and Flashing Rivers; Of Time and the River: 12,000 Years in the Upper Susquehanna Region; From Viking to Insight: Henry Cooper and the Quest for Life on Mars; Art/Politics: Power, Propaganda, and Persuasion; Sculptures in Silver: America’s Standing Liberty Quarters, 1916-1931; and Masterpieces of European and American Art: the Hartwick College Art Treasure Room.

The Museum's regular hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. when the College is in session. The Museum is closed Sundays, Mondays, College holidays, and when the College is not in session. Admission is free.
