When you drive into a city you've never been to before and see many empty store fronts down the main street, what do you think?  If you're like most people, you think "This is not a thriving community".  Unfortunately, I feel like that's the message Oneonta is sending to visitors.

I took a walk up and down Oneonta's Main Street from the corner of Chestnut Street to Elm Street and counted the empty store fronts.  There were six!  Some have been empty for a very long time.  I know that the City of Oneonta is working hard on solving this complicated problem and hopefully we'll see progress soon since we don't want "Destination Oneonta...Life enjoyed" to become "Life enjoyed elsewhere".

The Downtown Oneonta empty stores are pictured below and above.
