This Thursday, if your cellphone buzzes loudly and a message comes on the screen reading "Presidential Alert", don't be alarmed. This is a Nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System.
According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the rest of the message you will receive on your smartphone/wireless device will read:
"THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
