The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is once again recommending that the influenza vaccination be administered to all people six months of age or older. People at high risk of serious flu complications include young children, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes or heart and lung disease, and people 65 years and older. The CDC says vaccination is also important for health care workers and other people who live with or care for high-risk people to keep from spreading flu to the people at high risk.

A.O. Fox Hospital, an affiliate of Bassett Healthcare Network, will be holding a flu shot clinic and pharmacy open house at FoxCare Pharmacy on Friday, Oct. 23, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Individuals 19 years of age and older may be vaccinated without an appointment.  Please bring your insurance cards for billing.  If your insurance company does not cover the vaccination, the cash prices is $25.  Cash, check and major credit card will be accepted payments.  There will also be free refreshments and door prizes at this event.  The Foxcare Center is located on Route 7, in the east end of Oneonta.  For more information call (607) 431-5284.
