
Former Chenango County Corrections Officer Sentenced for Robbery
A former Chenango County corrections officer pleaded guilty in Chenango County court Monday to 1st degree robbery and 3rd degree intimidating a witness, both felonies.
35-year-old Mark A. Alimar of Guilford was sentenced to a determinate 5 years with five years of post release supervision for the 1st offense and one year of prison for the 2nd offense. An order of protection was issued for the victim and her family.
The charges against Alimar were in connection with an unlawful entrance to an Oxford residence last December, where he forced the victim to lay on the floor by pointing a gun at her and stealing her cell phone, while acting in concert with others.
