A long time ago in an Oneonta far away, dining choices were limited in scope. There was plenty of pizza, Chinese takeout, and the ubiquitous Italian American offerings that Upstate New York is famous for.

In the early 2000s when our world began to get a bit smaller and attitudes towards ethnic cuisines shifted thanks to the nudging of chefs like Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern, international eateries away from big cities began to spring up. Thankfully, Oneonta was not immune to this trend.

I remember the day Tokyo opened on Main Street. What a thrill it was to not have to travel to Albany to have a plate of sushi. It was where I formally introduced my wife to Asian cuisine and culinary exploration as a whole.
